ARCHITECTURE PROGRAM I - 2018

25 June 2018 - 8 July 2018

This program brings together participants from different backgrounds and aims at constructing a collective thinking and production platform to investigate spatial practices, while supporting the participants in their collective working skills. It provides information and awareness about providing better living environments and how to encourage it. It opens up a forum for discussion and questions the spatial discourse, connects a variety of disciplines that are close to one another but do not traditionally act together.

Autonomous Art Machines

18 June 2018 - 24 June 2018

The aim of the workshop is to use different algorithms and techniques to create machines which create art works.

No specific skills are required. The workshop will start with basic coding examples, after that inspirational artworks will be discussed and similar projects will be created. Through the end of the workshop, some physical tools and examples will be realized.

The seminar includes topics such as cinematographic language, the fundamental concepts of its history and screen writing along with a few film samples from different times and geographies. This seminar is designed for young participants who are interested in film theory and practices.

Portfolio Studio and Body-Focused Art

Apart from the production of artwork, for an artist's career, it is also crucial to make applications to higher education programs, exhibitions, artist residencies, etc. This studio aims at supporting the artists creating and/or developing their artistic portfolio, websites as well as oral presentations. The program provides classes for the content, design and the critique of the portfolios.

Photography book & Miniature Program

This workshop has the main objective of finding an answer to a significant question: “What is your problem with life, what are your obsession(s), reverie(s)?” The answer may / should vary from person to person! What you hate / love the most, a social or a political fact that bugs you, a childhood memory, a moment you cannot forget willingly of unwillingly… This can be anything you say “worth to speak!” in life; a personal inner issue will certainly increase the factor of passion.

Designing the space

This studio work, that is planned to be completed within the course of one week, aims at analysing our relationship with the space and our environment through the processes of creating contemporary art exhibitions. Thought development practices, fundamentals of design and curatorial approaches shape the subject matters of this workshop, while methodologies for analysis and research as well as critical thought determines the routes to follow. This studio-based workshop will be formed through the analysis of the visual examples.

Experimental Visual Arts Program on Time 2017

This program brings together three studios that interdependently offer analysis of the notion of "time" in the visual arts. While the studio "Timeless Ones" provide the participants a working environment with a variety of materials, In Search of Water studio offers long walking and reading experiences providing literature, philosophy and art texts written on "walking". The Social (Media &) Memory/loss studio offers a theoretical approach to the notions of memory and time.

This program brings together artists, art theorists/critics, historians, curators, art educators, together with young enthusiastic individuals to close themselves at an intensive art camp where they can think, discuss, write, produce together. The variety of the backgrounds of our program facilitators and participants, we aim at creating a space for abstract and critical thinking without falling into the hierarchies between the teacher and the student. The productive process is completed with a small exhibition, however the classes are not product oriented but focus on the process.
