Nesin Art Village (NAV) is an innovative art program that was launched in 2015 by the alternative education initiative developed at Nesin Mathematics Village (NMV). NMV is located at Şirince-İzmir and was established in 2007. NAV aims to maintain an approach that focuses on criticality and independent production processes. It wants to offer a learning environment for young people from around Turkey, through workshops and seminars to be carried out by artists, academicians, writers and curators.


2018 Cinema Seminar I

11 June 2018 - 17 June 2018

At this seminar the language of cinema, the fundamental concepts of film history and script writing will be introduced along with sample films from different times and geographies. The seminar is designed for the young participants who are interested in the theories and practices of cinema.


Autonomous Art Machines

18 June 2018 - 24 June 2018

The aim of the workshop is to use different algorithms and techniques to create machines which create art! works.

No specific skills are required. The workshop will start with basic coding examples, after that inspirational artworks will be discussed and similar projects will be created. Through the end of the workshop, some examples will be realised with physical tools.
