Burak Arıkan is an artist based in New York and Istanbul. He works with complex networks and investigates societal issues and develops his findings into abstract machinery, which generates network maps and algorithmic interfaces, results in performances, and procreates predictions to render inherent power relationships visible and discussable. Arıkan is the founder of Graph Commons, a collaborative platform for mapping, analyzing, and publishing data-networks. Arikan’s work has been featured in numerous institutions internationally including Museum of Modern Art New York, SFMOMA, Venice Architecture Biennale, São Paulo Biennial, Istanbul Biennial, Ashkal Alwan, Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art, MAXXI Museum, Asia Art Archive, Depo, and SALT
