Almıla Akdağ Salah

Almila Akdag Salah studied at the Art History Department of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), focusing on techno-science art and its place in the art historical canon. She was one of the first Digital Humanities Fellows of UCLA. Upon completing her PhD, she became a Postdoctoral researcher with the Virtual Knowledge Studio (KNAW) – Knowledge Space Lab project, which contributes to the new research area of maps of science. Almila joined the Digital Methods Initiative (University of Amsterdam, New Media Studies) with a Veni grant on the online art platform deviantArt.

Aslihan Şenel

Aslıhan Şenel is an architect, design studio tutor and lecturer at the Istanbul Technical University (ITU). After receiving her bachelor and masters degrees in ITU, she completed her PhD at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL in 2008, with a thesis titled ‘Unfixing Place: A Study of Istanbul through Topographical Practices’. She has organised international student workshops and contributed in publications such as Politics of Making by Routledge, First Year Works by ITU, and Besides Tourism by Editions ETSAB.

Ayca Ciftci

Ayça Çiftçi graduated from the Department of Film & TV at İstanbul Bilgi University and received her master’s degree from the Cultural Studies Department of the same university. She is a film critic and a member of the editorial board of Altyazı Cinema Magazine since 2005. From 2006 to 2010 she worked as a teaching assistant at Bilgi University. Currently, she is a PhD student in the Department of Media Arts at the Royal Holloway, University of London.

Başak Şenova

Basak Senova is a curator and designer. She studied Literature and Graphic Design (MFA in Graphic Design and Ph.D. in Art, Design and Architecture at Bilkent University) and attended the 7th Curatorial Training Programme of Stichting De Appel, Amsterdam.  She is a founding member of NOMAD, as well as the organizer of "Upgrade!Istanbul" and "ctrl_alt_del" sound art project. As an assistant professor, she lectured in various universities in Turkey.

Burçak Bingöl

Burçak Bingöl’s works reflect her dense cultural heritage and her continued fascination with patterns. Through her labor-intensive process of tracing, copying and reconstructing she adopts an analytical approach to ornamentation. Bingöl’s drawings convey an unusual sense of order, although they are largely made up of non-symmetrical lines and patterns.

Cansu Çakar

İzmir based artist Cansu Çakar was born in Istanbul in 1988. She started her higher education in 2006 at Dokuz Eylul University Traditional Turkish Arts Department. In 2012 she went to Moholy – Nagy Arts and Design University in Budapest to study graphic design through a student exchange programme. She earned her BFA in 2013 and now runs an independent art studio called “Miniature Atelier” in Konak, İzmir.

Denİz Aslan

Deniz Aslan was born in Istanbul in 1964, graduated from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 1986, Yildiz Technical University in 1989, and received his Ph.D. from ITU in 2000. He currently teaches in the Department of Architecture at ITU and is a partner at DS Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Restoration.

Elİf Hant

Elif Hant was graduated from Gazi University Architecture Department in 2015. Right after her graduation, she worked at Hayalgücü Design in Ankara for 6 months. After her architecture office experience, she started her Masters Degree at Istanbul Technical University’s Architectural Design Program in the same year. Since 2016 she is working as a research assistant at Istanbul Technical University and pursues her masters degree.

Erden Kosova

Erden Kosova contributed to two Istanbul-based contemporary art magazines 'art-ist' and 'Resmi Gorus' as a writer and editor. He is also a member of a post-anarchist collective, which currently runs the magazine project 'Siyahi'. He recently curated an exhibition titled 'Along the Gates of the Urban' in Galerie K&S in Berlin and in Oda Projesi in Istanbul. He works now for the Istanbul based socialist newspaper Birgun.

Erhan Vural

Erhan Vural graduated from Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Architecture in 2007. Since 2005, as one of the founding partners of the award winning architecture and urban design Office Aboutblank together with Ozan Özdilek, Hasan Sıtkı Gümüşsoy, and Gökhan Kodalak he has produced wide range of projects from the scale of singular housing to strategic urban design and won more than twenty awards from national and international competitions.

Evrİm Kavcar

Working mainly with sculpture, video animation and drawing, Evrim Kavcar is a visual artist interested in transforming some moments of encounter in daily life into the imaginative. With an inclination towards another perception and the fantastic, in recent years there was a rise in her encounters with animals. For example, in he days she believed everything could fly, a fly appears: a dead fly stuck by the wing in the crack of a wooden table.

GÜlçİn Aksoy

Gülçin Aksoy completed her qualifications with postgraduate degrees in art at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. She has been managing the Tapestry Studio at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Faculty of Fine Arts, on the teaching staff of the Painting Department since 1993. Without separating her artistic practice from her identity as an educator, she has taken a stance to both learn and produce. In addition to several personal productions, she has been a part of many collective projects such as the ‘Atılkunst’ collective.

Gülengül Altıntaş

Graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Communications, Department of Radio, TV and Film and continued her studies at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles) Content Creation for Entertainment Media program. Her short films and video projects were shown at festivals and received awards. Aside from her personal projects she worked as a cameraman and cinematographer for short film and documentary projects. She received her MA degree from Istanbul Bilgi University, Film TV Masters Program and worked as an assistant at the same institution.

Işıl Eğrİkavuk

Işıl Eğrikavuk studied Western literature at Boğaziçi University (Istanbul) then went to The School of The Art Institute of Chicago with a Koç Foundation scholarship for her MFA in Performance Art. She is currently teaching art and media at Istanbul Bilgi University. She also wrote a weekly column, Güncel Sanat Kafası (High on Contemporary Art) in the national newspaper Radikal for three years, where she commented on the intersections of daily news and contemporary art. Eğrikavuk is the winner of Turkey’s first contemporary art prize, Full Art Prize in 2012.
