Başak Özden graduated from the Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture. She received her masters degree as M.Arch. from METU in 2011. Her thesis, entitled Transformation of Architectural Space with the aid of Artistic Productionfocuses on the reciprocal relationship between architectural space and artworks, basically site-specific installations of the Austrian artist Esther Stocker. During her masters studies, she also took part in museum and exhibition projects as part of the Exhibition Design workshops at METU, founded by Prof. Dr. Ayşen SavaşShe visited Bauhaus- Universität Weimar in 2009/10 with the support of Erasmus program. Upon the completion of her masters degree, she worked in the field of stage and exhibition design for one year in Istanbul. She has been invited to a number of research conferences and meetings on museology in both Istanbul and Ankara. She has worked as moderator for many workshops such as the: Turkish-German Designers Workshop: Design Campus Istanbul 2012, Betonart Summer Workshop 2015, Betonun Bilindik Hafifliği. In 2014, she published her project Objects of Weimar in Memoriesas an online book together with Franziska Brand. Since 2014, she is doing her PhD courses under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ayşe Şentürer. She is working on the role of creative destruction in architecture and theoretical relations between destruction, documentation and archives. Since 2013 she has been working as a lecturer at Maltepe University, teaching design and optional courses.
